Jimmy Dean is an award-winning Director who specialises in short films and music videos. His most recent short film, Offside, was awarded the XX Award for Best Female Representation by Screen International at Underwire Film Festival, was nominated for Best Student Film at London Short Film Festival and competed for the Children’s Award at Encounters Film Festival. Offside was recently selected by Into Film and the British Council to be screened in schools nationwide.

His debut short Charity, shot on 16mm, starring Charlotte Beaumont (Broadchurch), Amanda Drew (Eastenders) and Ed Birch (Life in Squares) was awarded Best of the Fest by Mike Leigh at Greenhorn Film Festival, won the Prix de Rouen-Norwich Club Prize at This Is England Film Festival in France and screened at the BAFTA-qualifying London Short Film Festival. The film screened across England and win prizes in England and France.

Last year, Jimmy was chosen from 1000 applicants to direct the short film 'Grace' in association with the BFI and GoThinkBig as a part of the London Film Festival on the theme of ‘The Time Is Now.’

Jimmy's new short film V has been commissioned by Film London as a part of their 2017 London Calling slate.
